Alexandra MacLeod, DVM, DACVR

Dr. MacLeod grew up in the DC metropolitan area and was an avid horse back rider through high school. She went to undergrad at Princeton University, where she initially was in a premedical tract and majored in ecology and evolutionary biology. After spending a semester in the bush in Kenya, she switched her focus from preparing for medical school to veterinary school, realizing she could combine her interest in medicine with her love of animals. After undergraduate school, she competed in the sport of eventing as a full-time professional for 2 years before attending veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. MacLeod completed a rotating equine internship at Fairfield Equine Practice, before focusing on small animal imaging and completing a small animal imaging internship at VCA ASEC in Los Angeles. She completed a diagnostic imaging residency at Tufts University, finishing residency and becoming a board-certified radiologist. Outside of work, Alex still enjoys competing her horse Jack, hiking, skiing, and visiting state parks with her dog Panda.
