Benjamin Brunson, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Benjamin Brunson grew up in the Sunshine State and earned his undergraduate, Master’s Degree, and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida. After graduation he moved west for a small animal rotating internship at Colorado State University and then to the beautiful Pacific Northwest for a three-year small animal internal medicine residency at Oregon State University. Following successful completion of his residency and passing boards, he and his growing family moved back to the east coast to be closer to family and currently call the mountains of western North Carolina home. He married his wife, Katie, in 2015, and together they have 2 children along with 1 dog and 2 cats, plus an ever rotating set of foster kittens. While he enjoys all aspects of medicine, his favorite cases include infectious, immune-mediated, and hepatobiliary diseases as well as endoscopic and interventional radiology procedures. His hobbies include the goal of visiting every national park with his kids, scuba diving, watching all Gator sports, and home brewing.
